Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on restoring strength, balance, and function to the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues that support the pelvis. It can help relieve pain, improve bladder and bowel control, and address discomfort related to childbirth, surgery, or pelvic floor dysfunction.

At Nurture Women’s Health & Fertility, our pelvic floor specialist provides personalized treatment through gentle exercises, manual therapy, and education to support healing and overall wellbeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • During your pelvic floor physical therapy evaluation, you’ll receive a thorough review of your medical history, symptoms, and goals. Each session is one-on-one and tailored to your specific needs, combining education and hands-on care. Treatment may include gentle internal or external manual techniques, guided exercises for pelvic floor strength and coordination, and breathwork for improved pressure management—all provided within your comfort level and consent.

  • Most people are in physical therapy for at least 10-12 sessions, depending on the severity and history of symptoms. We will tailor your appointments to what YOU need. At the end of each appointment, we are going to give you things you can do on your own between your appointments that don't require our skilled supervision and will continue to benefit your pelvic health. We want to make this healing process quick and efficient for you. We work together as a team to come up with your personalized treatment plan.

  • At Nurture, we prioritize one-on-one, high-quality care—our patients are always the focus. Unlike many clinics where therapy aides provide much of the treatment, you’ll work exclusively with our licensed pelvic floor physical therapist at every visit. This personalized model allows for more focused sessions and faster, lasting results with fewer appointments.

Because the current medical system often limits true patient-centered care, Nurture operates outside of insurance restrictions to provide the time and attention each patient deserves. We’re happy to provide a detailed medical receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
